June Farm Update:

Hi friends,

May was an exciting month… We got our first batch of baby chicks:

After spending three weeks in the brooder, they moved into their final home out in the field, where they will stay until July.

Also starting the second week of May, I worked for some local farmers, helping with spring planting.

May Farm Update:

Well, we made it. Spring is here!
April was a month of wet mud and varying temperatures. It was also a month of all the final preparations that needed to be done to get ready for baby chicks arriving in early May!

We got the chicken tractor, designed by John Suscovich with a few modifications, all set up and ready for summer work.

We also cleared the pasture of all the sticks and brush that would make moving the chickens during the summer months more difficult.
